Roborock Qrevo Series Robot Vacuum and Mop Review: More than Just a Cleaning Gadget

Robotic vacuums have come a long way, evolving from simple devices that bumped around your house to smart machines with a suite of features. The Roborock Qrevo Series is one such device, offering both vacuum and mop functions. I took it for a spin to see if it lives up to the hype.

The vacuum's all-in-one docking station is a big selling point. It empties the dust, refills water, and even washes the mopping pads automatically. These conveniences can save you time and effort compared to more budget-friendly models.

Compared to other models, like the Roomba i7+, this vacuum offers similar performance with a few extra features like mop washing. If you're someone who values convenience and advanced features, you might find this model worth the investment.

However, if you’re budget-conscious and can do without some of the bells and whistles, there are cheaper models that get the basic job done just fine. It’s all about whether those extra conveniences are worth the additional cost to you.

The battery life of the Roborock Qrevo Series is advertised at 180 minutes, which sounds impressive. In my usage, it lasted for about two hours on medium settings before needing a recharge. That's pretty solid for most cleaning sessions in a medium-sized home.

Charging the device takes a bit of time, though—about four hours to get it back to full capacity. If you have a larger home, you might find yourself waiting around for it to recharge if you want it to clean the entire space in one go.

One thing that stands out is the auto-docking feature, which works seamlessly. Once the battery runs low, the device returns to its dock without any issues. This smart docking is quite convenient, although the docking station is a bit bulky.

In terms of long-term battery performance, I can't comment yet, but based on my experience with similar devices, expect the battery life to diminish slightly over time. Replacement batteries are available, but they aren't cheap.

When it comes to performance, the Roborock Qrevo Series delivers where it matters most. The 8000Pa suction is no joke—it efficiently picks up debris and dust, even those stubborn pet hairs. Over the weeks, I've tested it on hardwood floors, carpets, and tiles. It managed to clean them all fairly well.

The dual spinning mops are a nice touch for those sticky or dried-up stains on the floor. They spin at 200RPM, which is quite fast, and they do a decent job of scrubbing away messes. However, it’s not a replacement for a deep manual mop session, especially for tougher stains.

The vacuum's obstacle avoidance is generally reliable. It’s equipped with smart sensors that help it dodge furniture and other objects. However, it did struggle with small toys or cables occasionally, like most vacuums in its category.

In terms of mapping, it’s pretty efficient. The PreciSense LiDAR navigation system does a good job of mapping out your space accurately. It remembers multi-floor setups, which is a plus if your living space spans multiple levels.
